Billy Webb Night Sprints - Friday
The Billy Webb Night Sprints will be staged on the Whanganui River on the Friday evening of the Challenge weekend. Held over a 500m course, the event is open to all scullers of elite caliber, and offers a chance to participate in the Billy Webb Challenge the following day, competing against defending champions and invitational athletes.
The Billy Webb Night Sprints consist of a series of rounds, each round comprising of 4-boat heats, the number of heats and rounds determined by the number of entries received. The winner of each round will receive a small prize purse, and that winner, along with the second-placed boat shall progress to the next round.
The final winners and the second-place getters are awarded that right to challenge our defending champions for the Billy Webb Challenge Trophies and associated prize purse.
